There was a time when flashing, flickering and motion was all over the place on websites. Often enough we even had to wait until all these animated elements were loaded or until flash-designed intros finally stopped playing, so many frustrated visitors would click away immediately.
One of the characteristic of good webdesign is that moving images are only used rarely and with subtlety, or even better, only activated at the request of the visitor. The visitor of a hotel website, for example, will probably be annoyed when hectic 360-degree panoramic animations start to play automatically, which will also delay the loading of the page. A good webdesign on the other hand, leaves it to the visitor to decide whether he wishes to start such an animation by a mouseclick.

The inclusion of slideshows, videos or music into a website nowadays is no longer a complicated matter. Nevertheless, a larger storage capacity is required in this case and if their use is not necessary commercially, it is preferable that these elements are not used too often.
